Our latest "Cheers to Charity!" recipient is the Fernie Senior's Society, who were moments ago presented with a cheque for $4,109.98. A sizeable amount which already has a long list of items, ready to be spent on by all accounts.
Courtney Baker, Fernie Senior's Citizen Society Administrator, confirmed how fitting the timing of this donation was, as it's National Senior's Week. A fact I’m sure is unbeknown to many. Adding that the money will go towards "a whole collection of items, including new programing for isolated and vulnerable seniors and travel expenses for outings".
With a plethora of seniors in our community, it's great to be able to have our donation program covering such a broad spectrum of charitable groups. In one respect they're a stark contrast to the young seasonal powder hounds en route to town, whilst simultaneously being comparable in their love for for Fernie'esque adventure, lifestyle and judging by the ruckus and laughs going down currently in the Tasting Room over many a paddle of beer, the need for good beer filled times!
Courtney adds, "Cheers to Charity is a fantastic program which many local non-profit's have benefitted from, and we feel lucky to be the recipient for the last six weeks. Thanks Fernie Brewing!"
Our total donation amount has now reached a whopping $42,331.81. That's a whole lot of thirsty visitors! Next up is the Eirin Amundsun Memorial Pavilion, until December 31st, so we look forward to seeing you in our Tasting Room.
Please note our Fall hours, of Mon-Fri 10-6 are now in operation, with our extended Winter hours kicking in December 1st.
