To celebrate Canada Day fast approaching, Manitoba Liquor Marts are running a "Coast to Coaster" beer event, to celebrate fine craft beers from across Canada! This event is running from June15th - July 12th, or until stocks last...
(Fernie, BC) – It would be an understatement to say that spring arrived early to Fernie this year. Despite a more than tricky winter for the usual powder haven that is small-town Fernie, locals and visitors alike have seemingly embraced the early change in season, and all the excitement that comes with it. From biking to townie riding, hiking to trail running, flip-flops to shorts. Not to mention beers on the patio.
Since December 2013, Fernie Brewing Co. has been donating all money taken from our paddles of four samples, served in the Tasting Room to a variety of worthy local charities, organizations or clubs.
It’s been a popular addition to our Storefront and Tasting Room, to both the public and recipients. With four recipients a year, each receiving three months worth of sample takings, it soon adds up and makes a huge difference.
Our upcoming Charity, for April - June 2015 is "Elk Valley Hospice".
(Fernie, BC) – A new year and a new beer. A hybrid beer, full of malts and flavour. Fernie Brewing Co.’s latest release is an India Brown Ale. Hot Saw India Brown Ale, hitting shelves tomorrow.
[Hot Saw rendering_narrow] “It has a strong malt backbone providing caramel, chocolate, and nutty flavours. Using our hop back and dry hopping methods provides a pleasant and pleasing hop flavour and aroma. And a great variety of malts, a unique avalanche of flavour,” says Brewmaster Gord Demaniuk.
It’s as strong on the outside as it is on the inside. Following in suit of Fernie Brewing Co.’s recent packaging revamp, the Hot Saw 650ml bottle is suitably clad in hoppy green and rich brown, adorned with a burly, plaid wearing lumberjack. With beard, toque, chainsaw and three perfectly cut cookies, of course.
There’s been a whole lot of local buzz surrounding Fernie’s upcoming new seasonal release, following the success and popularity of our recent Project 9 Pilsner, which launched earlier this year, aptly named after one of Fernie’s most popular bike trails.
So keeping with our small-town, bike-paradise roots, Fernie Brewing Co.’s upcoming new brew is named Kickstand Honey Kolsch. Less climbing, more cruising, but equally as refreshing and seasonally appropriate.
(Fernie, BC) – Summer is on. No more inter-season ponderings, with a lack of things to do, or simply waiting for something to start. It’s started and as far as the Craft-Beer world is concerned, it’s a hive of beer-fuelled activity left, right and centre.
Tuesday June 18th 6-8PM at The Fernie Arts Station
Joe Wiebe knows pretty much everything there is to know about beer. An author, specialising in Craft Beer, he has recently hand-crafted a new book, entitled “Craft Beer Revolution: The Insider’s Guide to BC Breweries”.
To co-inside with the start of Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW) and to launch his new read, Joe is touring the province in coming weeks, sharing his knowledge and love of the good stuff.
(Fernie, BC) – As you may have noticed, along with a few excellent recipe tweaks and a plethora of exciting new products, FBC have made a change to their look. And it seems for the better.
[pint-glass-fernie-brewing] It started with a new logo. Moving away from the popular, yet more traditional existing logo, we opted for a crisp, simple, stylistic logo. Easy to use across the board of marketing material, merchandise and packaging.
(Fernie, BC) – Yes, indeed this is true. You and a friend could be shredding the pow at the one of the top Catskiing operations in the world. Located just outside of Fernie, Island Lake Lodge is a skier and snowboarders paradise, with some of the best terrain out there.
To be in with a chance, all you have to do is show us at FBC how much you enjoy our beer. Simple as that.
