Cheers to Charity Update: donations and an exciting switch-over

Written by Fernie Brewing Co.

The donation totals are in, folks!

Following five weeks of tasty patio weather, delicious sunshine, and countless flights of beer, together with your help we raised a total of $5,266.25 for Cycling Without Age Fernie via our Cheers to Charity Sample Flights. This brings the sum of our Cheers to Charity donations to $167,548.08 to date – a total worth raising a glass (or many) to.

Seniors accept cheque from FBCThe funds raised for Cycling Without Age will go towards local programming that allows seniors and those with limited mobility to be taken out for free rides on special bikes called trishaws. These excursions allow for residents who struggle with movement to get out to take in sweet mountain views, breathe in fresh air, and embark on the sort of adventures we love to support here at FBC!

Keeping the donations going, up next on our Cheers to Charity board is the Elk Valley Land Trust – a group formed to preserve access to Elk Valley land for recreational and economic benefits via the conservation of privately owned lands. Giving equal priority to recreation, restoration and sustainable tree harvesting, the Elk Valley Land Trust is all about highlighting the need for sustainable forest management in an effort to ensure the social and economic prosperity of the valley we call home!

All proceeds from our Cheers to Charity sample flights will be going towards the Elk Valley Land Trust until September 30, after which we’ll be changing things up once again to donate to another deserving local organization.
