A Cheers to Charity switchover worth cheers-ing to!

Written by Fernie Brewing Co.

The totals are in, folks! Following a month and a half of flights, spring sunshine, and exciting community events, we were able to raise a total of $4768.50 for the Fernie Pets Society via our Cheers to Charity sample flights!

Rwo women holding up a cheque dedicated to the Fernie Pets SocietyThis donation is in addition to the $564.00 that we raised from our Griz Days Beer + Bailout, making for a grand total of $5,332.50! The funds we raised together with your help will be going towards the Fernie Pets Society’s ongoing work with their Spay + Neuter incentive as well as further development of the Railyard Off-Leash Dog Park.

Following this donation, the sum of our Cheers to Charity donations to date is now an amazing $184,122.33! We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has come by for a flight in support of one of the many deserving community recipients we’ve had on our Cheers to Charity board throughout the years.

And just like that, please join us in welcoming our newest Cheers to Charity recipient, the Elk Valley Suicide Task Force.

The EVSTF seeks to promote the awareness and prevention of suicide in the Elk Valley, by increasing community conversation about suicide to reduce stigma around the topic, while connecting the community to available resources, services, events and educational tools.

The Elk Valley Suicide Task Force will be our Cheers to Charity recipients until the end of May – so next time you have a free afternoon, swing by for a flight in support of this fantastic local organization ♥️ While you’re here, have a look around your table and check in with each other, or ask yourself who’s missing and would love to connect over a beer some other time.
