Calgary, AB
Matt Corkum
Born with spastic cerebral palsy, Matt was told he may never ride a bike. Fast forward a few decades, and he now bikes thousands of kilometres a year. Matt struggled with single-track mountain bike trails until a few years ago when he tried out an e-mountain bike. After adding an e-bike of his own to his existing collection, which included a fat bike, a mountain bike and a hybrid, you can now find Matt rocking the trails in Bragg Creek and Fernie in the warmer months.
With a PhD in atmospheric science, Matt works as a meteorologist in Calgary and the more extreme the snowstorm is, the more excited he gets. Naturally, winter is his favourite season. In March 2021, with the help of Rocky Mountain Adaptive, he skied for the first time, and in January 2023, Matt skied for the first time without an instructor at Fernie Alpine Resort. Safe to say he’s never looked back!
When Matt’s not working or adventuring, he’s a true storyteller and helps people see the Ability in disAbility. He sits on several boards around inclusion of those with disabilities; including Rocky Mountain Adaptive and Calgary Adaptive Hub – both helping make sure sport and activity is inclusive to those with disabilities.
Matt’s go-to year-round brew is What the Huck Berry Ale, but he dabbles in all FBC beers, he says.
Banff, AB
Jillian Richardson
Jill was born and raised in the flatlands of Saskatchewan but moved west as soon as she could and never looked back. She’s spent the last decade chasing snow through Canada, Japan and NZ, but always seems to land back home in Banff, AB.
She gets after everything the mountains have to offer, preferring to be up at the peaks whenever she can. In the winter, she skis and snowboards and has been lucky enough to build a career in the industry, coaching athletes who are just as stoked on snow as she is! She’s passionate about making space for everyone in snowsports, especially other women. In the summer, Jill lives on her bike and can never get enough downhill riding, but she still carves out time for big runs and backpacking trips.
Jill is endlessly grateful for her life in the mountains and the people she shares it with, she says. With FBC being her beer of choice, she finds herself reaching for Hit the Deck Hazy IPA or a juicy sour like Split Decision when she can get her hands on it!

Cranbrook, BC
Nathan Siemens
Nathan is a self-described overly enthusiastic chatterbox who loves the East Kootenays almost as much as he loves biking.
Based in Cranbrook, BC, Nathan is passionate about all kinds of cycling – fat biking, gravel biking, bikepacking, or just commuting by bike. You name it, he’s done it!
He’s a big part of the bikepacking community in the East Kootenays, organizing the Lost Elephant, a 500+ km bikepacking race in July every year. Nathan is also kicking off the inaugural Coldride Cranbrook, an epic winter fat bike ultra race in and around the Rocky Mountains near Cranbrook.
Nathan is stoked to be a part of Team FBC 2025 as an opportunity to encourage people to get out there, get after and have fun outdoors, he says. His go-to post-ride beer is Tunnel Creek Kölsch, but you’ll find his fridge is always stocked with LOGO Hazy IPA.
Fernie, BC
Davis Clement
The resident Fernie-local on our team for 2025, Davis is another FBC alumni we’re excited to welcome back for a second year. Having called Fernie home for the past 6 years, Davis is an all-around mountain lover.
A die-hard skier at heart, in the winter you can find Davis chasing snow across Southern BC and Alberta in the backcountry and at the epic resorts in the area. Summer will find Davis on a mountain bike, crawling up as many trails around town as he can or enjoying the local dirt jumps. Along with his outdoor adventurous lifestyle, Davis is a fine woodworker and pursuing a degree in kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge.
Davis is stoked to be on Team FBC and represent the people of our sweet mountain town who enjoy a good FBC après, he says.
No matter the season, Davis is a Headwall drinker through and through – he doesn’t see that changing anytime soon!
Victoria, BC
Mercedes Vince
A returning member of Team FBC, Mercedes considers herself lucky to live in the City of Victoria on Vancouver Island. She works at a tech company for her day job, but outside of work, you will find her trail running, hiking, biking, lifting weights, swimming and just generally enjoying the PNW with her partner, friends and family.
Her favourite way to adventure is definitely running through the mountains and trails, it is where she feels happiest and most alive! In recent years, Mercedes has taken on several ultras including Canyons 100M, Sinister 7, and Rim2Rim2Rim, to name a few.
Depending on what she’s feeling, her go-to FBC brew would either be Hit The Deck Hazy IPA or the LOGO Hazy IPA. Can you tell she likes a hazy?
She loves beer, the outdoors, and connecting with the community and FBC is a great representation of combining them all, she says.
